Overview of working session
At the meeting, Ambassador Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama thanked the Ministry of Construction for accepting the invitation and sending a delegation to attend the upcoming 12th World Urban Forum (WUF) to be held in Egypt.
According to Ambassador Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama, currently, cities around the world are facing many serious challenges such as: environmental pollution, illegal migration, traffic congestion, flooding... Therefore, at the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF), representatives of countries will find solutions to tackle with the above challenges, and provide orientations for building and developing green cities, smart cities, digital transformation, urban planning, education and training, green finance, construction technology... towards sustainable development of cities.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van stated that the Ministry of Construction is a Governmental agency, responsible for state management, including: Construction planning, architecture; construction investment; urban development; urban technical infrastructure; housing; offices; real estate market; construction materials; public services in the fields of state management of the ministry according to the provisions of law.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van also noted the recent economic losses caused by Storm Yagi, highlighting the impact of climate change on urban areas in Vietnam. He emphasized his desire to learn from other countries' experiences in urban development.
Through this meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction and Egyptian partners, and he hoped that Ambassador Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama would support the promotion of collaboration in the construction sector.
Ambassador Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama agreed with Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van's opinion, and affirmed her willingness and the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Vietnam to act as a bridge for establishing cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and Egyptian partners and further developing the friendly cooperation between the two countries in the future.
