Vietjet Airlines and AV AirFinance have just signed a cooperation agreement worth 300 million USD, witnessed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, Ho Duc Phoc, during a business trip aimed at promoting Vietnam-U.S. economic and trade relations. Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van also participated in the Delegation.

The agreement with AV AirFinance is part of a series of financial agreements worth 4 billion USD that Vietjet has concluded with leading U.S. partners. These agreements are intended to support the development of a new fleet, including nearly 300 aircraft expected to be delivered in the period from 2025 to 2027.

In 2025, Vietjet will begin receiving its first Boeing 737 Max aircraft from an order of 200 planes valued at over $24 billion, announced in the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump in Vietnam on February 27, 2019. The airline is also in the process of negotiating an expansion of this order to support its global development strategy.

In addition to Boeing, Vietjet is engaged in strategic partnerships with several leading U.S. corporations such as GE, Pratt & Whitney, and Honeywell, with a total contract value of nearly $50 billion, along with additional projects currently under deep negotiation valued at approximately $14 billion.

In the field of engines and technical services, collaboration with GE and Pratt & Whitney has reached a scale of over $10 billion. Additionally, Vietjet is expanding its technological cooperation with corporations such as Microsoft, Apple, and Google, and is in negotiations with SpaceX to develop technology services across its entire fleet. These contracts in the near future are expected to significantly narrow the trade gap between Vietnam and the United States.

With a strategy to develop a modern fleet and a global flight network, Vietjet is currently operating over 115 new-generation, fuel-efficient aircraft, and has ordered more than 400 additional units.

AV AirFinance is a part of the U.S. investment group KKR, specialized in providing financial solutions for commercial aircraft to airlines, aircraft leasing companies, freight transporters, and investors.
